۞ When (Jesus) the son of Mary is held up as an example, behold, thy people raise a clamour thereat (in ridicule)! 57 And they say: Are our gods better, or is he? They do not set it forth to you save by way of disputation; nay, they are a contentious people. 58 Jesus was not but a servant upon whom We bestowed favor, and We made him an example for the Children of Israel. 59 And had We willed We could have set among you angels to be viceroys in the earth. 60 And indeed, Jesus will be [a sign for] knowledge of the Hour, so be not in doubt of it, and follow Me. This is a straight path. 61 And let not Satan bar you [from it] - for, verily, he is your open foe! 62 When Jesus came with Clear Signs and said: “I have brought wisdom to you that I may make plain to you some of the things you differ about. So fear Allah and follow me. 63 Allah is my Lord and your Lord; therefore, serve Him. That is the Straight Way.” 64 Then the factions fell apart among themselves. So woe to the wrong-doers from the chastisement of a grievous Day. 65 Await they aught save the Hour, that it shall come upon them suddenly, when they know not? 66 Friends on that Day will be foes one to another except Al-Muttaqun (pious - see V. 2:2). 67
