The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
When the sun is overthrown, 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 The mountains made to move, 3 And when milch camels roam abandoned. 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 When the oceans surge and swell, 6 when the souls shall be rejoined (with their bodies), 7 When the female (infant), buried alive, is questioned - 8 for what sin she was slain, 9 And when the written pages of deeds (good and bad) of every person shall be laid open; 10 when heaven is stripped, 11 when Hell is set ablaze, 12 when Paradise is brought near, 13 Every soul shall (then) know what it has prepared. 14 Rather, I swear by the returning 15 that hide, 16 The closing night, 17 and the morn as it breathes. 18 it is indeed the word of an Honorable Messenger, 19 The processor of strength, having an honorable place with the Lord of the Dominion, 20 With authority there, (and) faithful to his trust. 21 Your companion is not one possessed: 22 And he has already seen Gabriel in the clear horizon. 23 and he is not one to begrudge others the knowledge [of whatever has been revealed to him] out of that which is beyond the reach of human Perception. 24 Nor is this the word of a stoned satan. 25 Whither, then, will you go? 26 This is certainly the guidance for all (jinn and mankind). 27 So let those who want, choose the right guidance 28 but will you shall not, unless God wills, the Lord of all Being. 29
