Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
I CALL TO WITNESS those who are sent consecutively, 1 storming tempestuously 2 and the rain-spreading winds, 3 And the scattering winds scattering. 4 and then cast (Allah's) remembrance (in people's hearts), 5 excusing or warning, 6 surely, that which you have been promised is about to fall! 7 So when the stars are extinguished, 8 The heavens split asunder, 9 And when the mountains are blown away, 10 and when the Messengers' time is set, 11 to what day shall they be delayed? 12 For the Day of Sorting out. 13 And what will convey unto thee what the Day of Decision is! - 14 Woe on that day unto the beliers 15 Destroyed We not the former folk, 16 Then We will follow them with the later ones. 17 Thus do We deal with the sinful ones. 18 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 19 Did We not create you from a humble fluid, 20 which We placed within a sure lodging 21 For a known calculated term. 22 Then We facilitated (your birth). How well do We calculate! 23 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle 25 for the living and for the dead? 26 and have We not set on it proud, firm mountains, and given you sweet water to drink? 27 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 28 "Go to what you used to deny; 29 Proceed to a shadow [of smoke] having three columns 30 “Which neither gives shade, nor saves from the flame.” 31 It will throw out sparks as logs of wood 32 which seem as though they are yellow-coloured camels. 33 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 34 This is the day on which they shall not speak, 35 nor shall they be given permission, so that they can apologize. 36 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 37 This is the Day of Decision; We have gathered you and all the earlier men. 38 If you have any plans, use them. 39 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 40
