Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
CONSIDER these [messages,] sent forth in waves 1 And those that strike violently, 2 Which scatter clouds to their destined places, 3 separating one from another, 4 And those [angels] who deliver a message 5 To clear or to warn. 6 Verily that which ye are promised is about to befall. 7 Thus, [it will come to pass] when the stars are effaced, 8 And when the heaven is cloven asunder. 9 And when the mountains are blown away 10 The Messengers will receive their appointments. 11 To which Day has this task been deferred? 12 For the Day of Judgement. 13 And what will make you comprehend what the day of decision is? 14 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 15 Have We not destroyed the earlier generations? 16 So shall We make later (generations) follow them. 17 As such shall We deal with the sinners. 18 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 19 Did We not create you from a humble fluid, 20 The which We placed in a place of rest, firmly fixed, 21 till a known term decreed? 22 Thus We arranged. How excellent is Our arranging! 23 On that day, woe would be upon those who have rejected the revelations of God! 24 Have We not made the earth a repository 25 for the living and for the dead? 26 Set We not therein soaring mountains? Sated you with sweetest water? 27 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 28 [They will be told], "Proceed to that which you used to deny. 29 Proceed to a shadow rising in three columns: 30 which neither gives shade nor protects one from the flames. 31 The fire will shoot out sparks as big as huge towers 32 As if they were yellowish [black] camels. 33 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth 34 This is a day wherein they speak not, 35 nor be allowed to proffer excuses! 36 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 37 That will be a Day of Decision! We have brought you and the men of old together! 38 If now ye have any wit, outwit Me. 39 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 40
