He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ HE FROWNED and turned away 1 Because the blind man had come in his august presence. 2 But what could tell you that per chance he might become pure (from sins)? 3 or receive some (Quranic) advice which would benefit him. 4 As for he who is sufficed 5 To him you attend; 6 What does it matter to you if he will not become pure (from disbelief, you are only a Messenger, your duty is to convey the Message of Allah). 7 And for him who came to you striving, 8 and in awe [of God] 9 You neglect. 10 Assuredly this is a reminder 11 (and whoso wills, shall remember it) 12 upon highly honored pages, 13 exalted, purified, 14 In the hands of scribes 15 Honourable and obedient. 16 Perish Man! How unthankful he is! 17 From what did He create him? 18 From a drop of liquid; He created him and then set several measures for him. 19 then eased his path for him, 20 Then He caused him to die and be buried 21 Then when He listeth, He shall raise him to life. 22 Nay, but [man] has never yet fulfilled what He has enjoined upon him! 23 Let the human being think about (how We produce) his food. 24 For that We pour forth water in abundance, 25 then We split the earth in fissures 26 Then We cause to grow therein the grain, 27 and vines, and reeds, 28 Olives and dates, 29 And gardens, dense with many trees, 30 And fruit and grass - 31 all this as a provision for you and your cattle. 32 And when the Blast shall sound, 33 on the Day when each man shall flee from his brother, 34 And his mother and his father, 35 As well as his wife and children. 36 on that Day each will be occupied with his own business, making him oblivious of all save himself. 37 Faces on that Day shall be beaming, 38 Laughing, rejoicing. 39 but others will be gloomy 40 and veiled with darkness. 41 They will be the unbelievers, transgressors. 42
