Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Destroyed were the hands of Abu Lahab, and he lay utterly doomed. 1 Of no avail shall be his wealth, nor what he has acquired. 2 He will be burnt in a Fire of blazing flames! 3 And his wife, the wood-carrier, 4 A twisted rope of palm-leaf fibre round her (own) neck! 5

God Almighty has spoken the truth.
