Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection 1 Nay, I swear by the accusing soul (that this Scripture is true). 2 What, does the human think We shall never gather his bones? 3 Yea! We are able to make complete his very fingertips 4 Rather, the human desires to continue in his immorality, 5 He asks: When is the day of resurrection? 6 So, when the sight shall be dazed, 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 And the sun and the moon will be united. 9 On that day man will cry: Whither to flee! 10 But there is nowhere to take refuge: 11 unto thy Lord that Day is the recourse. 12 On that Day the human shall be informed of his former and latter deeds. 13 Aye! man against himself shall be an enlightenment. 14 And even if he presents all the excuses he has, none will be listened to. 15 Do not move your tongue with it (the Revelation) to hasten it. 16 Surely on Us (devolves) the collecting of it and the reciting of it. 17 And when We read it, follow thou the reading; 18 then it will be for Us to explain it. 19 Nay, but ye do love the fleeting Now 20 And leave the Hereafter. 21 On the Day of Judgment some faces will be bright, 22 Looking towards their Lord; 23 and some faces will on that Day be overcast with despair, 24 knowing that a crushing calamity is about to befall them. 25 Some people, certainly, do not believe in it, but when a person's soul reaches up to his throat 26 And it is asked: "Is there any reciter of charms and amulets?" 27 He will then realise it is the parting, 28 and calf is inter-twined with calf. 29 To your Lord, that Day, will be the procession. 30
