The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
WHEN THE SUN is shrouded in darkness, 1 The stars turn dim and scatter, 2 And when the mountains shall be made to pass away, 3 And when the camels big with young are abandoned, 4 when the savage beasts shall be mustered, 5 And when the seas shall become as blazing Fire or shall overflow; 6 when the souls are divided into different classes, 7 and when the girl-child buried alive shall be asked: 8 for what crime she had been slain, 9 When the scrolls are laid open; 10 and when heaven is laid bare, 11 And when the Scorch shall be made to blaze, 12 And when the garden is brought nigh, 13 then shall a soul know what it has produced. 14 I swear by the receding stars. 15 And by the planets that move swiftly and hide themselves, 16 And by the night as it departs; 17 and the first breath of morning. 18 Verily, this is the Word (this Quran brought by) a most honourable messenger [Jibrael (Gabriel), from Allah to the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him)]. 19 who is honored in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 The one who is obeyed, and trustworthy. (Other angels obey angel Jibreel). 21 Nor is your companion distracted. 22 And indeed he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) saw him [Jibrael (Gabriel)] in the clear horizon (towards the east). 23 And Muhammad is not a withholder of [knowledge of] the unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of the cursed Shaitan, 25 So where are you going? 26 It is naught but a reminder for the nations, 27 For him among you who pleases to go straight. 28 And you do not please except that Allah please, the Lord of the worlds. 29
