۞ And Allah said (O mankind!): "Take not ilahain (two gods in worship, etc.). Verily, He (Allah) is (the) only One Ilah (God). Then, fear Me (Allah) much [and Me (Alone), i.e. be away from all kinds of sins and evil deeds that Allah has forbidden and do all that Allah has ordained and worship none but Allah]. 51 His is whatever is in the heavens and the earth, and obedience to Him inevitably pervades the whole universe. Will you, then, hold in awe any other than Allah? 52 Every bounty that you enjoy is from Allah; and whenever any misfortune strikes you, it is to Him that you cry for the removal of your distress. 53 When He saves you from the hardship, some of you start to believe in idols. 54 that they may show ingratitude for the bounties We bestowed upon them. So enjoy yourselves for a while, soon you will come to know (the truth). 55 And they assign to what they do not know a portion of that which We have provided them. By Allah, you will surely be questioned about what you used to invent. 56 And they ascribe daughters to Allah, glory be to Him; and for themselves (they would have) what they desire. 57 When any of them is told about the birth of a female his face turns dark, and he is filled with suppressed anger, 58 Because of the evil of the good news he hides himself from people, (pondering) whether he will keep her and be humiliated, or trample her into the dust. Evil is their judgement! 59 Those who do not believe in the Hereafter deserve to be characterized with evil attributes whereas Allah's are the most excellent attributes. He is the Most Mighty, the Most Wise. 60
