The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
WHEN THE SUN is folded up, 1 And when the stars shall fall; 2 and the mountains have been taken, 3 And when full-term she-camels are neglected 4 And when the wild beasts are herded together, 5 When the oceans boil over with a swell; 6 when the souls are divided into different classes, 7 and when the girl-child buried alive shall be asked: 8 such as, "For what crime were they murdered?" 9 And when the Records of Account are laid bare. 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped, 11 when Hell shall be set blazing, 12 And Paradise brought near, 13 (Then) every soul will know what it hath made ready. 14 No! I swear by the slinkers, 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 And by the night as it closes in 17 And the morning when it brightens, 18 Truly, this is the word brought by a noble messenger, 19 Full of power, well-established (in position) with the Lord and Master of the Throne, 20 One (to be) obeyed, and faithful in trust. 21 Your companion is not possessed; 22 Assuredly he beheld him in the horizon manifest. 23 And he is not avid of the Unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of a satan accursed. 25 So where are you going? 26 It is not except a reminder to the worlds 27 To whomsoever among you who wills to walk straight, 28 And you will not, unless (it be) that Allah wills, the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 29
