Have you not considered (the work of) your Lord, how He extends the shade? And if He had pleased He would certainly have made it stationary; then We have made the sun an indication of it 45 Then We withdraw it unto Us, a gradual withdrawal? 46 It is He who has appointed the night a mantle for you and sleep for a rest. The day He has appointed for rising. 47 And it is He Who sends the winds as heralds of glad tidings, going before His Mercy (rain), and We send down pure water from the sky, 48 To quicken a region that was dead, and to give it as drink to animals We have created and to men in plenty. 49 And We set it forth among them, that they may be admonished, but most men begrudge aught save infidelity. 50 And if We had pleased We would certainly have raised a warner in every town. 51 hence, do not defer to [the likes and dislikes of] those who deny the truth, but strive hard against them, by means of this [divine writ,] with utmost striving. 52 ۞ And it is He who has released [simultaneously] the two seas, one fresh and sweet and one salty and bitter, and He placed between them a barrier and prohibiting partition. 53 And it is He Who has created man from water, and has appointed for him kindred by blood, and kindred by marriage. And your Lord is Ever All-Powerful to do what He will. 54 And they (disbelievers, polytheists, etc.) worship besides Allah, that which can neither profit them nor harm them, and the disbeliever is ever a helper (of the Satan) against his Lord. 55 Yet [withal, O Prophet,] We have sent thee only as a herald of glad tidings and a warner. 56 Say thou: I ask of you no hire for this, save that whosoever will may take unto his Lord a way. 57 And trust thou in the Living One Who dieth not, and hymn His praise. He sufficeth as the Knower of His bondmen's sins, 58 (It is) He who, in six days created the heavens and the earth and all that lies between them, and then He willed to the Throne. The Merciful; ask about Him from he who knows Him. 59 Yet when they [who are bent on denying the truth are told, "Prostrate yourselves before the Most Gracious" they are wont to ask, "And [who and] what is the Most Gracious? Are we to prostrate ourselves before whatever thou biddest us [to worship]?" - and so [thy call] but increases their aversion, ۩ 60
