Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the winds (or angels or the Messengers of Allah) sent forth one after another. 1 by (the angels) as swift as blowing winds, 2 And those that revive by quickening, 3 separating one from another, 4 and those hurling a reminder 5 To complete the argument or to warn. 6 Surely what you are promised shall come to pass. 7 When the stars lose their light, 8 And when the heaven is cleft asunder; 9 when the mountains shall be scattered 10 And when the Messengers are gathered to their time appointed; 11 to what day shall they be deferred? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 And what will convey unto thee what the Day of Decision is! - 14 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 15 Did We not destroy the ancient people 16 So shall We make later (generations) follow them. 17 [for] thus do We deal with such as are lost in sin. 18 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 19 Did We not create you from a liquid disdained? 20 Which We placed in a depository safe. 21 For a period (of gestation), determined (according to need)? 22 So We proportion it-- how well are We at proportioning (things). 23 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 24 Did We not make the earth a receptacle, 25 For the living and the dead among you? 26 And placed in it lofty and broad stablisers, and gave you sweet water to drink? 27 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 28 Depart to that you cried was lies! 29 Proceed to that shadow, rising in three columns 30 affording neither shade, nor protection from the flames, 31 It will throw out sparks as logs of wood 32 like giant fiery ropes! 33 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 34 This is a Day they will not speak, 35 nor shall they be permitted to offer excuses. 36 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 37 That will be a Day of Decision! We have brought you and the men of old together! 38 If you have any plans, use them. 39 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 40
