Alshu'araa' 10 of 11
The Companions of the Wood rejected the messengers. 176 Shu'aib said to them: 'Will you not be cautious? 177 Lo! I am a faithful messenger unto you, 178 Therefore guard against (the punishment of) Allah and obey me: 179 “And I do not ask from you any fee for it; my reward is only upon the Lord Of The Creation.” 180 ۞ Give full measure and do not cheat; 181 weigh with an even balance 182 And do not deprive people of their due and do not commit abuse on earth, spreading corruption. 183 Fear He who created you, and the generations of the ancient' 184 Said they: "Thou art but one of the bewitched, 185 You are only a human being like ourselves. Indeed we think you are a liar. 186 But in case you are speaking the truth, then make a segment of the sky to fall upon us." 187 He said: 'My Lord knows what you are doing' 188 But they denied him, so there came on them the retribution of the day of gloom. Lo! it was the retribution of an awful day. 189 Lo! herein is indeed a portent; yet most of them are not believers. 190 Your Lord is Majestic and All-merciful. 191
