And lo! it is a revelation of the Lord of the Worlds, 192 The Trustworthy Spirit brought it down. (Angel Jibreel – peace be upon him.) 193 Upon thy heart, that thou mayst be (one) of the warners, 194 in clear Arabic speech. 195 And indeed it is mentioned in the earlier Books. 196 Is it not a sign to them that the learned men of the Israelites know it? 197 If We had sent it down on a barbarian 198 and had he recited it unto them [in his own tongue,] they would not have believed in it. 199 Thus do We cause (unbelief) to enter the hearts of sinners. 200 They will not believe it until they behold the painful punishment. 201 It shall come to them of a sudden, while they perceive it not; 202 They will say, "Can we be granted any respite?" 203 So do they wish to hasten Our punishment? 204 Have you then considered if We let them enjoy themselves for years, 205 Yet there comes to them at length the (Punishment) which they were promised! 206 (How) that wherewith they were contented naught availeth them? 207 Never have We destroyed a habitation till We had sent admonishers to them 208 for a reminder; and never did We wrong. 209 And it is not the Shayatin (devils) who have brought it (this Quran) down, 210 It is not allowable for them, nor would they be able. 211 verily, [even] from hearing it are they utterly debarred! 212 So do not call on any deity besides God, lest you incur His punishment. 213 And warn your tribe (O Muhammad SAW) of near kindred. 214 And be kind and humble to the believers who follow you. 215 And if they disobey thee, say thou: verily I am quit of that which ye work. 216 Have trust in the Mighty, the Merciful, 217 who sees thee when thou standest 218 And (seeth) thine abasement among those who fall prostrate (in worship). 219 Surely, He is the Hearer, the Knower. 220 [And] shall I tell you upon whom it is that those evil spirits descend? 221 They descend upon every calumniator, sinner. 222 They listen, but most of them are liars. 223 And as for the poets [they, too, are prone to deceive themselves: and so, only] those who are lost in grievous error would follow them. 224 Seest thou not that they wander distracted in every valley?- 225 And that they say that which they do not? 226 Except those who believe, work righteousness, engage much in the remembrance of Allah, and defend themselves only after they are unjustly attacked. And soon will the unjust assailants know what vicissitudes their affairs will take! 227
