S (Saad)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Saad, by the Holy Reading (Koran) of the Remembrance. 1 Nay, but the unbelievers are steeped in arrogance and stubborn defiance. 2 How many a generation have We destroyed before them, and they [then] called out; but it was not a time for escape. 3 And they wonder that there has come to them a warner from among themselves. And the disbelievers say, "This is a magician and a liar. 4 "Has he made the gods (all) into one Allah? Truly this is a wonderful thing!" 5 And the Council of them depart, saying 'Go! Be steadfast to your gods; this is a thing to be desired. 6 We have not heard of this in later religion. This is naught but an invention. 7 To him of all of us has the Reminder been sent down?" They are still in doubt about My admonition; but they have not tasted My punishment yet! 8 Do they have the stores of the mercy of your Lord, the mighty and munificent? 9 Or, is theirs the Kingdom of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them? Then let them ascend by (their) means! 10 But there - will be put to flight even a host of confederates. 11 Before them (were many who) belied Messengers, the people of Nuh (Noah); and 'Ad; and Fir'aun (Pharaoh) the man of stakes (with which he used to punish the people), 12 And the tribe of Thamud, and the people of Lut, and the People of the Woods; these are the groups. 13 There was not one but belied the apostles, wherefore justified was My wrath. 14
