The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By those [angels] who extract with violence 1 and those that draw out violently, 2 And who glide with ease. 3 Then press forward as in a race, 4 by those that direct an affair! 5 On the day when the first trumpet sound blasts 6 The second blowing of the Trumpet follows it (and everybody will be raised up), 7 On that Day will [men's] hearts be throbbing, 8 and eyes will be humbly cast down. 9 They are [presently] saying, "Will we indeed be returned to [our] former state [of life]? 10 Even if we should be decayed bones? 11 They shall say, 'That then were a losing return!' 12 But it shall be only a single scare, 13 When, behold, they will be in the (full) awakening (to Judgment). 14 (Muhammad), have you heard the story of Moses 15 When his Lord called upon him in the holy valley, twice, 16 "Go unto Pharaoh - for, verily, he has transgressed all bounds of what is right 17 And say, "Hast thou the will to purify thyself; 18 that I may direct you to your Lord and then you hold Him in awe?'” 19 And he showed him the greatest sign, 20 But [Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] belied and disobeyed; 21 He then turned away, striving in his effort. 22 Then he gathered and cried aloud, 23 Saying: "I am alone your lord, the highest of them all." 24 Thereupon Allah seized him for the chastisement of the World to Come as well as of the present. 25 Indeed in that is a warning for whoever would fear [Allah]. 26
