۞ Gather together those who did wrong and their comrades and that which they were wont to worship 22 instead of God, and lead them all onto the way to the blazing fire, 23 and halt them [there]!" [And then,] behold, they shall be asked, 24 "Why help you not one another?" 25 No indeed; but today they resign themselves in submission 26 They will turn to each other saying, 27 They will say, "Indeed, you used to come at us from the right." 28 They will reply: "Nay, you yourselves were not believers. 29 "Nor had we any authority over you. Nay, it was ye who were a people in obstinate rebellion! 30 So on us hath been justified the sentence of our Lord: verily we are to taste. 31 “We therefore led you astray, for we ourselves were astray!” 32 On that day they will all share the torment. 33 Verily We! in this wise We deal with the culprits. 34 For when it was said unto them, There is no Allah save Allah, they were scornful 35 and said, "Should we give up our idols for the sake of an insane poet". 36 In fact, he had brought them the truth and had acknowledged the Messengers (who were sent before him). 37 “You surely have to taste the painful punishment.” 38 You will only be recompensed according to your deeds.” 39 Save single-minded slaves of Allah; 40 [in the hereafter,] theirs shall be a sustenance which they will recognize 41 Fruits (Delights); and they (shall enjoy) honour and dignity, 42 in the Gardens of Delight, 43 Facing each other on Thrones (of Dignity): 44 Round them will be passed a cup of pure wine; 45 Clear, delicious to drink, 46 but not harmful or intoxicating. 47 And with them will be maidens (houris) who restrain their wide glances 48 Like sheltered eggs in a nest. 49 Then they will turn to one another, mutually questioning. 50 The speaker among them said, “I had a companion.” 51 “Who used to tell me, ‘Do you believe it is true?’ 52 [that] after we have died and become mere dust and bones we shall, forsooth, be brought to judgment?"' 53 (The man) said: "Will you look down?" 54 He will look down and see him in hell. 55 'By Allah' he will say, 'you almost destroyed me! 56 And had it not been for the favor of my Lord, I would certainly have been among those brought up. 57 (Allah informs about that true believer that he said): "Are we then not to die (any more)? 58 Except for our first death, and we will not be punished?" 59 Verily, this - this indeed - is the triumph supreme!" 60 For the like of this let all strive, who wish to strive. 61 Is this a better hospitality or the tree of al-Zaqqum? 62 Surely We have made it to be a trial to the unjust. 63 It is a tree that grows from the bottom of Hell; 64 Its fruit like the heads of demons. 65 So indeed they will eat from it, and fill their bellies with it. 66 And thereafter verily they shall have thereon a draught of boiling water. 67 Then shall their return be to the (Blazing) Fire. 68 They found their fathers erring, 69 and [now] they make haste to follow in their footsteps! 70 Before them a multitude of people of olden times had erred, 71 though We had sent warners among them. 72 Then look how was the end of those who were warned - 73 Save single-minded slaves of Allah. 74
