Therefore remind! by thy Lord's blessing thou art not a soothsayer neither possessed. 29 Or they allege, “He is a poet – we await a calamity of the times to befall him.” 30 Tell them: “Wait; I too am waiting with you.” 31 Enjoin them their understandings to this? or are they a people conumacious? 32 What! They say, “He has invented the Qur'an”? Rather they do not have faith. 33 Let them produce a phrase like it, if what they say is true! 34 Have they been created from nothing or are they themselves their own creators? 35 Or did they create the heavens and the earth? Rather they are not certain. 36 [How could they?] Are thy Sustainer's treasures with them? Or are they in charge [of destiny]? 37 Have they a stairway whereby they overhear? Then let their listener bring an authority manifest. 38 Or hath He daughters whereas ye have sons? 39 Do you (Muhammad) ask them for any payment (for your preaching) which they cannot afford? 40 Do they possess knowledge of the unseen, so that they can write it down? 41 Or do they intend a plan? But those who disbelieve - they are the object of a plan. 42 Or do they have a god apart from God? He is too exalted for what they associate with Him! 43 Even if they saw lumps falling from heaven, they would say, 'A massed cloud!' 44 so leave them alone till they face the Day on which they will be struck dumb, 45 The day on which their struggle shall not avail them aught, nor shall they be helped. 46 And verily, for those who do wrong, there is another punishment besides this: But most of them understand not. 47 And so, await in patience thy Sustainer's judgment, for thou art well within Our sight. And extol thy Sustainer's limitless glory and praise whenever thou risest up, 48 Extol His glory at night, and at the setting of the stars. 49
