3/4 Hizb 45
< random >
Noah called to Us; and how excellent were the Answerers! 75 We saved him and his people from the great distress, 76 and We made his offspring the survivors. 77 And left (his name) for posterity. 78 Peace be upon Noah among all the peoples! 79 This is how We reward the virtuous. 80 Surely he was of Our believing servants. 81 [and so We saved him and those who followed him] and then We caused the others to drown. 82 ۞ And lo! of his persuasion verily was Abraham 83 when he came unto his Lord with a pure heart, 84 When he said unto his father and his folk: What is it that ye worship? 85 It is falsehood that you desire gods other than Allah! 86 What do you think of the Lord of the Worlds?" 87 Then he looked at the stars, looking up once, 88 And he said: verily I am about to be sick. 89 So turning their backs, they went away from him. 90 Then he went quietly to the (temple of the deities) and said: “What is the matter with you, why do you not eat? 91 What is the matter with you that you do not speak? 92 Then he turned upon them, striking them with his right hand, 93 Then they advanced toward him, hastening. 94 He said, "How can you worship what you yourselves have carved 95 while it is Allah Who has created you and all that you make?” 96 They said: build for him a building and cast him into the flaming fire. 97 And they desired a war against him, but We brought them low. 98 He said: "I will go to my Lord! He will surely guide me! 99 Abraham prayed, "Lord, grant me a righteous son". 100 We gave him the glad news of the birth of a forbearing son. 101 And when he attained the age of running with him, he said: O my son! verily I have seen in a dream that I am slaughtering thee; so look, what considerest thou? He said: O my father! do that which thou art commanded; thou shalt find me, Allah willing, of the patients. 102 So when they both submitted and he threw him down upon his forehead, 103 And We called out to him: "O Abraham! 104 You have fulfilled the dream (vision)!" Verily! Thus do We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 105 That was indeed a clear trial. 106 And We ransomed him with a Feat sacrifice. 107 And We kept his praise among the latter generations. 108 "Peace and salutation to Abraham!" 109 As such We recompense the gooddoers. 110 Surely he was one of Our believing servants. 111 Then We gave him the good tidings of Isaac, a Prophet, one of the righteous. 112 We blessed him and Ishaque (Isaac), and of their progeny are (some) that do right, and some that plainly wrong themselves. 113
