۞ When the heaven breaks apart. 1 hearing and obeying its Lord, as it must do; 2 and when the earth is leveled, 3 And hath cast out all that was in her, and is empty 4 obeying its Lord, as it must do! 5 O man, you are striving unto your Lord and you will meet Him. 6 he who is given his record in his right hand 7 will be easy, 8 and shall return to his people joyfully. 9 But as for those whose Book of records will be given behind their backs, 10 he shall call for destruction 11 And shall enter a blazing Fire, and made to taste its burning. 12 They lived among their people joyfully 13 and surely thought he would never return (to his Lord). 14 Nay, nay! for his Lord was (ever) watchful of him! 15 So by oath of the late evening’s light. 16 and by the night and what it enfolds, 17 or by the moon when it is full, 18 That you will climb from stage to stage. 19 What is wrong with them that they do not believe? 20 And when the Qur'an is recited to them do not bow in adoration? ۩ 21 In fact the disbelievers keep denying. 22 But God knows what they harbour in their breasts. 23 So announce to them a painful torment. 24 Except those who believed and did good deeds – for them is a reward that will never end. 25
