Jonah, too, was one of the Messengers. 139 Call to mind when he fled to the laden ship, 140 And he drew lots and was among the losers. 141 Then a fish swallowed him, and he was blameworthy. 142 Had he not glorified God, 143 he would certainly have remained in its belly till the Day of Resurrection. 144 ۞ But We cast him forth on the naked shore while he was sick, 145 And We caused to grow over him a tree, a gourd. 146 And We sent him to a hundred thousand (folk) or more 147 They believed in him so We granted them enjoyment for an appointed time. 148 (Muhammad), ask them, "Do daughters belong to your Lord and sons to them? 149 Or, did We create the angels females while they were witnessing? 150 Oh, verily, it is out of their own [inclination to] falsehood that some people assert, 151 " Allah has begotten," and indeed, they are liars. 152 (And again of their falsehood): He hath preferred daughters to sons. 153 What is the matter with you? How do you decide? 154 Will ye not then reflect? 155 Or have you, perchance, a clear evidence [for your assertions]? 156 Then bring your book, if ye say sooth. 157 And they imagine kinship between him and the jinn, whereas the jinn know well that they will be brought before (Him). 158 Exaltations to Allah above what they describe, 159 Except the slaves of Allah, whom He choses (for His Mercy i.e. true believers of Islamic Monotheism who do not attribute false things unto Allah). 160 for, verily, neither you [blasphemers] nor the objects of your worship 161 Not against Him can you cause (any) to fall into trial, 162 except him who shall roast in Hell. 163 Of us there is none but hath a station assigned. 164 "And we are truly those who stand in rows, 165 Lo! we, even we are they who hymn His praise 166 AND, INDEED, they [who deny the truth] have always been wont to say, 167 If we had the account of earlier people with us, 168 We would be single-minded slaves of Allah. 169 Yet now (that it has come) they refuse to believe in it; but they will come to know soon. 170 Our word had already been given before to Our votaries, the apostles, -- 171 That they would be helped, 172 and that Our army will be triumphant. 173 So you ignore them for a time 174 and watch them. They, too, will watch. 175 So are they being impatient for Our punishment? 176 When it descends upon their courtyards, evil will be the morning of those forewarned. 177 So turn thou away from them for a little while, 178 And watch (how they fare) and they soon shall see (how thou farest)! 179 Glorified be your Lord, the Lord of Honour and Power! (He is free) from what they attribute unto Him! 180 So peace be on the messengers, 181 And all praise unto Allah the Lord of the worlds. 182
Almighty God's Truth.

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
