Said [Moses]: "O my Sustainer! Open up my heart [to Thy light,] 25 "Ease my task for me; 26 And loose a knot from my tongue. 27 so that they may understand my speech; 28 Appoint for me a minister from my family 29 Aaron, my brother. 30 “Back me up with him.” 31 and let him share my task 32 That we may sing Your praises much, 33 And remember Thee oft. 34 Surely You know us well." 35 Said He, 'Thou art granted, Moses, thy petition. 36 Already another time We favoured thee, 37 Recall, when We indicated to your mother through inspiration: 38 Saying: Put him into a chest, then cast it down into the river, then the river shall throw him on the shore; there shall take him up one who is an enemy to Me and enemy to him, and I cast down upon you love from Me, and that you might be brought up before My eyes; 39 Then your sister followed you, and said (to the people who had retrieved the child): 'Should I guide you to a person who can nurse him?' We thus brought you back to your mother that her heart may be cheered, and she may not grieve. (Remember) when you killed a man We saved you from anguish; and tested and steeled you (in other ways). Afterwards you sojourned for several years with the people of Midian; then you came up to the measure, 40 And I have attached thee to Myself. 41 go therefore, thou and thy brother; with My signs, and neglect not to remember Me. 42 "Go, both of you, to Pharaoh, for he has indeed transgressed all bounds; 43 And speak to him with gentle speech that perhaps he may be reminded or fear [Allah]." 44 They said: "O our Lord, we are really frightened lest he behave insolently with us or become violent." 45 He said: Fear not, surely I am with you both: I do hear and see. 46 So go to him and say: 'The two of us have indeed been sent by your Lord. So let the children of Israel come with us, and do not oppress them. We have come to you with a token from your Lord. Peace on him who follows the way of guidance. 47 Indeed, it has been revealed to us that the punishment will be upon whoever denies and turns away.' " 48 Pharaoh said:" Moses! Who is the Lord of the two of you?" 49 [Musa (Moses)] said: "Our Lord is He Who gave to each thing its form and nature, then guided it aright." 50 He said: Then what is the state of the former generations? 51 Musa said: the knowledge thereof is with my Lord in the Book; my Lord erreth not, nor He forgetteth. 52 It is God who has made the earth as a cradle for you with roads for you to travel. He has sent water from the sky to produce various pairs of plants. 53 Eat, [then, of this produce of the soil,] and pasture your cattle [thereon]. In all this, behold, there are messages indeed for those who are endowed with reason: 54
