Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the winds which carry dust particles, 1 and those that bear the burden [of the rain], 2 then the easy runners (the ships); 3 And those (angels) who distribute (provisions, rain, and other blessings) by (Allah's) Command; 4 Indeed, what you are promised is true. 5 The Judgement will indeed take place. 6 By the heaven containing pathways, 7 your ideas are confused. 8 Through which are deluded (away from the Truth) such as would be deluded. 9 Woe to the falsehood-mongers,- 10 Who are in a gulf (of ignorance) neglectful; 11 They ask, "When is the Day of Recompense?" 12 (It is) the day when they will be tormented at the Fire, 13 (And it will be said unto them): Taste your torment (which ye inflicted). This is what ye sought to hasten. 14 Surely those who fear God and follow the straight path will be amidst gardens and fresh springs of water, 15 receiving their reward from their Lord. They had been righteous people before the Day of Judgment. 16 They used to sleep but little of the night, 17 praying at dawn for God's pardon, 18 and sharing their possessions with the beggars and the deprived. 19 And on the earth are signs for the certain [in faith] 20 And in yourselves. Then will you not see? 21 And in the heaven is your sustenance and what you are threatened with. 22 And by the Lord of the heavens and the earth, it is the truth, even as (it is true) that ye speak. 23
