Hast thou considered him who turns his back 33 and grudgingly spends very little for the cause of God? 34 Hath he knowledge of the Unseen so that he seeth? 35 Or, has he not been told of that which is in the Scrolls of Moses 36 and Abraham, who paid his debt in full? 37 “That no bearer of a burden shall bear the burden of another, 38 nor can man achieve anything without hard labor. 39 and that in time [the nature of] all his striving will be shown [to him in its true light,] 40 and that he shall then be fully recompensed, 41 and that the final end is with your Lord, 42 and that He it is Who causes people to laugh and to cry, 43 and that it is He who makes to die, and that makes to live, 44 and that it is He who creates the two kinds - the male and the female 45 From seed when it is emitted. 46 And that He hath ordained the second bringing forth; 47 and that it is He alone who frees from want and causes to possess; 48 It is He who is the Lord of Sirius. 49 that it was He that destroyed ancient Aad 50 And that Thamud! He left not. 51 And before them, the people of Noah, for that they were (all) most unjust and most insolent transgressors, 52 And Al-Mu'tafikah He destroyed 53 So that (ruins unknown) have covered them up. 54 About which, then, of thy Sustainer's powers canst thou [still] remain in doubt? 55 This is a warner from the warners of ancient times. 56 There hath approached the approaching Hour. 57 none except Allah can disclose it. 58 Are you astonished at this news, 59 And do you laugh instead of weeping, 60 indulging in carelessly idle games? 61 So prostrate to Allah and worship [Him]. ۩ 62
