The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Allah, the Most Gracious 1 has taught the Koran. 2 He created man. 3 He has imparted unto him articulate thought and speech. 4 The sun and moon rotate in a predestined orbit. 5 And the plants and the trees prostrate (for Him). 6 And the heaven, He raised it high, and He made the balance 7 Do not transgress the scales. 8 And establish weight in justice and do not make deficient the balance. 9 He positioned the earth for all the creatures: 10 Therein is fruit and palms having sheathed clusters, 11 And grain covered with husk, and fragrant flowers. 12 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 13 He created man (Adam) from sounding clay like the clay of pottery. 14 whereas the invisible beings He has created out of a confusing flame of fire. 15 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 16 (He is) Lord of the two Easts and Lord of the two Wests: 17 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 18 He hath let loose the two seas. 19 Between them is a barrier, which they do not overrun. 20 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 21 From both of them emerge pearl and coral. 22 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 23 Also, His are the ships that run, raised up like mountains upon the sea. 24 Which of the favours of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 25
