a large throng from the ancients, 39 And a large group from the latter. 40 As for the People on the Left: how miserable will be the People on the Left! 41 They will find themselves in scorching wind and scalding water, 42 And the shade of black smoke. 43 neither cool, neither goodly; 44 and before that they lived at ease, 45 and would persist in heinous sinning, 46 ever saying, 'What, when we are dead and become dust and bones, shall we indeed be raised up? 47 What, and our fathers, the ancients' 48 Say: 'Those of ancient times and those of later times 49 shall all be brought together on an appointed Day. 50 Then indeed you, the astray, the deniers - 51 Shall surely eat of the tree of Az-Zqqum. 52 Then will fill your bellies with it. 53 "And drink Boiling Water on top of it: 54 Drinkers even as the drinking of thirsty camels. 55 This shall be their entertainment on the Day of Requital. 56 It is We who have created you. Why then did you not testify to the Truth? 57 Have you seen sperm? 58 Is it you that create it or are We the creators? 59 It is We who have ordained death for all of you; and We cannot be prevented 60 That We may transfigure you and make you what ye know not. 61 You certainly knew about (your) first development. Why do you not take heed? 62 See ye the seed that ye sow in the ground? 63 Is it you or We Who make them grow? 64 If We willed, surely We would make it chaff, so that ye would be left wondering. 65 “We have been penalised; 66 Nay, but we have been deprived [of our livelihood]!" 67 And have you seen the water that you drink? 68 Is it you that send it down from the clouds or We? 69 If We willed We verily could make it bitter. Why then, give ye not thanks? 70 So what is your opinion regarding the fire which you kindle? 71 Was it ye who made the tree thereof to grow, or were We the grower? 72 We have made it a reminder and provision for the travelers, 73 Therefore, O dear Prophet Mohammed - peace and blessings be upon him, proclaim the Purity of the name of your Lord, the Greatest. 74
