Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ Say, (O Prophet), it was revealed to me that a band of jinn attentively listened to (the recitation of the Qur'an) and then (went back to their people) and said: “We have indeed heard a wonderful Qur'an" 1 'It guides to the Right Path, and we have believed therein, and we shall never join (in worship) anything with our Lord (Allah). 2 And (we believe) that He - exalted be the glory of our Lord! - hath taken neither wife nor son, 3 'There were some foolish ones among us, who used to utter extravagant lies against Allah; 4 And that we thought that men and jinn did not utter a lie against Allah: 5 And indeed (O Muhammad) individuals of humankind used to invoke the protection of individuals of the jinn, so that they increased them in revolt against Allah); 6 They thought, as you did, that God would never raise up anyone from the dead. 7 And we stretched towards heaven, but we found it filled with terrible guards and meteors. 8 There, we would sit to eavesdrop, but now an eavesdropper finds a flame in wait for him. 9 ‘And we do not know whether harm is intended for those on the earth, or whether their Lord intends goodness for them.’ 10 and that “some of us are upright and some of us are otherwise for we follow widely divergent paths”; 11 And that we know that we cannot escape Allah in the earth, nor can we escape Him by flight: 12 And that when we heard the guidance, we believed in it; so whoever believes in his Lord, he should neither fear loss nor being overtaken (by disgrace): 13 and that “among us some are Muslims (Those who have submitted to Allah), and some of us are deviant. So those who became Muslims found the Right Course; 14 ‘And as for the unjust – they are the fuel of hell.’” 15 If people were to keep firmly to the Right Way, We would have vouchsafed them abundant rain 16 So that We might try them with respect to it; and whoever turns aside from the reminder of his Lord, He will make him enter into an afflicting chastisement: 17 "And the places of worship are for Allah (alone): So invoke not any one along with Allah; 18 When the devotee of God stood up to invoke Him (the jinns) crowded upon him (to listen). 19
