Nay, and by the moon, 32 By the night when it withdraweth. 33 And [by] the morning when it brightens, 34 Surely it (hell) is one of the gravest (misfortunes), 35 A warning for people -- 36 Unto him of you who will advance or hang back. 37 Every soul will be in captivity for its deeds 38 Except those of the right hand 39 In Gardens they will question 40 and will ask of the criminals, 41 'What thrusted you into Sakar?' 42 They will answer: "We were not among those who prayed; 43 and we did not feed the poor; 44 "But we used to talk vanities with vain talkers; 45 And we used to call the day of judgment a lie; 46 Until there came to us the certainty." 47 So there will not benefit them the intercession of [any] intercessors. 48 Then what is wrong with them (i.e. the disbelievers) that they turn away from (receiving) admonition? 49 like frightened donkeys 50 Fleeing from a lion! 51 Nay, every man of them desires to be -- given -- scrolls unrolled. 52 Nay! But they fear not the Hereafter (from Allah's punishment). 53 No, indeed, surely, this is a Reminder. 54 So whosoever will (let him read it), and receive admonition (from it)! 55 And they shall not heed unless Allah willeth. He is the Lord of piety, and the Lord of forgiveness. 56
