Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 No! I swear by the reproachful soul. 2 What, does the human think We shall never gather his bones? 3 We certainly have the power to restore them even the very tips of their finger. 4 Rather, the human desires to continue in his immorality, 5 He asks: "When will be this Day of Resurrection?" 6 When, then, the sight shall be confounded. 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 and the sun and moon are brought together, 9 on that Day man will ask, "Where can I escape?" 10 Certainly not! There will be no place of refuge. 11 unto thy Lord that Day is the recourse. 12 Upon that day man shall be told his former deeds and his latter; 13 Nay! Man will be a witness against himself [as his body parts (skin, hands, legs, etc.) will speak about his deeds]. 14 Though he puts forth his excuses. 15 Stir not thy tongue herewith to hasten it. 16 We Ourself shall see to its collection and recital. 17 And when We read it, follow thou the reading; 18 Then lo! upon Us (resteth) the explanation thereof. 19 No indeed; but you love the hasty world, 20 and neglect the life to come. 21 Countenances on that Day shall be resplendent, 22 Looking towards their Lord; 23 And that day will other faces be despondent, 24 Thinking that some calamity was about to fall on them; 25 No indeed; when it reaches the clavicles 26 And it will be said: "Who can cure him and save him from death?" 27 and he thinks that it is the parting 28 and is enwrapped in the pangs of death 29 on that Day he will be driven towards your Lord! 30
