50 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah) before Q (Qaaf)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
I CALL TO WITNESS those who are sent consecutively, 1 and then storming on with a tempest's force! 2 And those that revive by quickening, 3 And those [angels] who bring criterion 4 By those who bring down the Reminder, 5 To excuse or to warn, 6 surely, that which you have been promised is about to fall! 7 So when the stars are made to lose their light, 8 And when the sky is split apart. 9 And when the mountains are blown away; 10 and the appointed time to bring the Messengers together arrives, (then shall the promised event come to pass). 11 To which Day has this task been deferred? 12 To the Day of Decision. 13 How will you comprehend what the Day of Judgement is? 14 On that day, woe will be to those who have rejected God's revelations! 15 Did We not destroy the ancients, 16 We will now cause the later ones to follow them: 17 This is how We deal with the guilty. 18 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 19 Did We not create you from an insignificant drop of fluid 20 that We laid within a sure lodging 21 Till an appointed term, 22 See that We had the power to do so. Great indeed is Our power to do what We will. 23 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 24 Have We not made the earth a repository 25 for the living and the dead, 26 And made therein lofty mountains, and given you to drink of sweet water? 27 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 28 Proceed to that (the Day of Judgment) which you have rejected. 29 Proceed to a shadow [of smoke] having three columns 30 [But having] no cool shade and availing not against the flame." 31 it indeed throws up sparks like castles, 32 and yellow camels. 33 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 34 This is a day wherein they speak not, 35 Nor given leave to make excuses. 36 On that day, woe would be those who have rejected God's revelations! 37 That will be a Day of Sorting out! We shall gather you together and those before (you)! 38 If now you have any strategy, use it against Me. 39 Woe on the day unto the beliers! 40
