The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ What are they questioning each other about? 1 Of the mighty tiding 2 concerning which they have disputes. 3 Indeed, they shall know! 4 again, no indeed; soon will they come to know. 5 Have We not spread the earth like a bed, 6 and the mountains as pegs? 7 And We created you in pairs, 8 and We made your sleep a rest, 9 And made the night as clothing 10 and the day as time for you to make a living? 11 We have built above you seven mighty heavens, 12 And have kept a very bright lamp in it. 13 And from the wind-driven clouds We send down waters pouring in abundance, 14 In order to produce grain and plants with it. 15 And gardens dense and luxuriant. 16 Surely the Day of Decision is an appointed time, 17 the Day when the Trumpet shall be blown, and you will come forth in multitudes; 18 And the heaven is opened and becometh as gates, 19 The mountains put in motion turning into a mirage. 20 Certainly Hell lies in wait, 21 A dwelling place for the Taghun (those who transgress the boundry limits set by Allah like polytheists, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, hyprocrites, sinners, criminals, etc.), 22 there, they shall live for ages, 23 They shall not taste therein cool nor drink 24 Except scalding water and [foul] purulence - 25 for a suitable recompense. 26 Indeed, they did not hope for a Reckoning, 27 But they (impudently) treated Our Signs as false. 28 and everything We have numbered in a Book. 29 So taste (the fruit of what you sowed), for We shall add nothing but torment, 30
