The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By those [angels] who extract with violence 1 And [by] those who remove with ease 2 by the swimmers (angels) swimming gently 3 Then outpace the others swiftly 4 and by the angels who regulate the affairs, (you will certainly be resurrected). 5 A Day shall come whereon the quaking will quake, 6 and will be followed by another quaking. 7 Hearts will pound loudly on that day, 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 They say: shall we indeed be restored to the first state, 10 Even if we should be decayed bones? 11 They say: "It would, in that case, be a return with loss!" 12 So that is not but a single shout. 13 And lo! they all shall appear on the surface. 14 Has the story of Moses reached thee? 15 Behold, thy Lord did call to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa:- 16 Go to Firon, surely he has become inordinate. 17 And say to him: "Would you purify yourself (from the sin of disbelief by becoming a believer)", 18 And let me guide you to your Lord so you would fear [Him]?'" 19 So he showed him the mighty sign. 20 But (Pharaoh) rejected it and disobeyed (guidance); 21 He then turned away, striving in his effort. 22 and gathered his people together 23 Then he said: I am your lord, the most high. 24 So God seized him with the chastisement of the Last World and the First. 25 In this, behold, there is a lesson indeed for all who stand in awe [of God]. 26
