Didst thou (O Muhammad) observe him who turned away, 33 who gave a little, and then stopped? 34 Does he [claim to] have knowledge of something that is beyond the reach of human perception, so that he can see [it clearly]? 35 Has not he been informed of the contents of the Book of Moses 36 and of Abraham, who lived up to the trust? 37 That no bearer of burden shall bear the burden of another- 38 and that man shall have only that for which he strives; 39 and that his work is surely seen 40 and will be fully recompensed for his deeds. 41 And that the end is only towards your Lord? 42 And that it is He Who made (you) laugh and made (you) cry? 43 And that it is He (Allah) Who causes death and gives life; 44 And that He createth the two spouses, the male and the female, 45 from an ejected drop of sperm; 46 And that upon Him is another bringing forth. 47 That it is He Who giveth wealth and satisfaction; 48 And that He it is Who is the Lord of Sirius; 49 And that He did destroy the Ad of old 50 And (the tribe of) Thamud He spared not; 51 as well as the people of Noah before them - [since,] verily, they all had been most willful in their evildoing and most overweening 52 And the subverted cities He overthrew. 53 So that (ruins unknown) have covered them up. 54 So, which of your Lord's bounties will you doubt?” 55 This [Prophet] is a warner like the former warners. 56 The (Judgment) ever approaching draws nigh: 57 There is no one to unveil it apart from God. 58 So are you surprised at this fact? 59 Why do you laugh rather than weep? 60 Indulging in pleasantries? 61 But fall ye down in prostration to Allah, and adore (Him)! ۩ 62
