Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ When the heavens are rent asunder, 1 And when the stars become dispersed, 2 When the seas are poured forth, 3 and when the graves are laid open: 4 Each soul will know what it had sent ahead and what it had left behind. 5 O Man! What deceived thee as to thy generous Lord 6 Who created you, shaped you, and made you well-proportioned, 7 having put thee together in whatever form He willed [thee to have]? 8 By no means! Aye, ye belie the Requital. 9 Yet over you there are watchers, 10 noble recorders, 11 and these honorable scribes know whatever you do. 12 Lo! the righteous verily will be in delight. 13 The wicked certainly in Hell: 14 which they will enter on the Day of Judgment 15 And they (Al-Fujjar) will not be absent therefrom (i.e. will not go out from the Hell). 16 And what shall make thee know whatsoever the Day of Requital is? 17 Again, what will make you know what the Day of Recompense is? 18 It is the Day when a soul will not possess for another soul [power to do] a thing; and the command, that Day, is [entirely] with Allah. 19
