The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By those [angels] who extract with violence 1 By the angels who release with gentle release. 2 By the lone stars floating, 3 and vie with the others (in carrying out their Lord's behests); 4 and thus they fulfil the [Creator's] behest! 5 Upon the day when the first blast shivers 6 And the second followeth it, 7 Hearts, that Day, will tremble, 8 and their eyes will be humbled. 9 They are [presently] saying, "Will we indeed be returned to [our] former state [of life]? 10 even after we have been reduced to bones, hollow and rotten?” 11 They say: "It would, in that case, be a return with loss!" 12 But only, it will be a single Zajrah [shout (i.e., the second blowing of the Trumpet)]. (See Verse 37:19). 13 and lo, they will all be in the open plain. 14 HAS THE STORY of Moses ever come within thy ken. 15 Lo! His Sustainer called out to him in the twice-hallowed valley: 16 saying 'Go to Pharaoh, he has become exceedingly insolent, 17 Then say: Have you (a desire) to purify yourself: 18 And I will guide you to your Lord so that you should fear. 19 And he showed him the tremendous token. 20 but he cried lies, and rebelled, 21 Then he turned away in a hurry, 22 Then gathered he and summoned 23 Saying, "I am your Lord, Most High". 24 So God seized him with the chastisement of the Last World and the First. 25 Indeed in this is a lesson for one who fears. 26
