The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
I CALL TO WITNESS those who dive and drag, 1 by the angels who gently release the souls of the believers, 2 And those who glide swimmingly, 3 And those who race each other in a race 4 And by those angels who arrange to do the Commands of their Lord, (so verily, you disbelievers will be called to account). 5 A Day shall come whereon the quaking will quake, 6 followed by the succeeding, 7 Hearts on that Day will be throbbing; 8 Unable to lift their gaze. 9 They shall say, 'What, are we being restored as we were before? 10 after we have become bones and dust?" 11 [And] they add, "That, then, would be a return with loss!" 12 Surely they will need no more than a single stern blast, 13 and lo, they will all be in the open plain. 14 Have you heard the story of Moses? 15 when his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa, 16 "Go to Pharaoh. Indeed, he has transgressed. 17 And say to him, "Would you like to reform yourself? 18 And I will guide you to your Lord so that you should fear. 19 Then did (Moses) show him the Great Sign. 20 But he rejected (the truth) and disobeyed. 21 and hastily turned away, 22 then, he gathered, proclaimed, 23 And proclaimed: "I (Pharaoh) am your Lord the Highest." 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the Everlasting Life, and of this world. 25 Indeed in that is a warning for whoever would fear [Allah]. 26
