Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Has the news of the overwhelming event reached you? 1 [Some] faces, that Day, will be humbled, 2 Travailing, worn. 3 Scorched by burning fire, 4 that is fueled from a tremendously hot fountain, 5 no food for them except thorny plants 6 unfattening, unappeasing hunger. 7 (Whereas other) faces on that Day will be joyful, 8 Glad with their endeavour (for their good deeds which they did in this world, along with the true Faith of Islamic Monotheism). 9 In a Garden on high, 10 wherein they shall hear no vain talk. 11 There is a stream of running water in it; 12 And within it are couches placed on high, 13 And cups put in place 14 well-placed cushions, 15 And rich carpets (all) spread out. 16 What, do they not consider how the camel was created, 17 And at the sky - how it is raised? 18 and how the mountains were firmly fixed? 19 and on the earth, how it is spread out? 20 Therefore do thou give admonition, for thou art one to admonish. 21 and are not invested with the authority to compel them. 22 However, as for him who turns away, being bent on denying the truth, 23 In which case he will be punished by God with the severest punishment. 24 Verily unto Us is their return. 25 In Our hands are their accounts. 26
