Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ HE FROWNED AND turned away, 1 Because there came to him the blind man. 2 What made you think that he will not grow in virtue, 3 Or that he may accept advice, so the advice may benefit him. 4 For him who does not care, 5 Unto him thou attendest. 6 Whereas it is not on thee that he is not cleansed. 7 but as for one who comes to you, eagerly 8 and who has fear of God, 9 him didst thou disregard! 10 NAY, VERILY, these [messages] are but a reminder: 11 So let whosoever will pay heed to it, 12 [It is recorded] in honored sheets, 13 uplifted, purified, 14 In the hands of scribes 15 Honourable and obedient. 16 Accursed be man! How stubbornly he denies the Truth. 17 Of what thing did He create him? 18 From a sperm-drop: He hath created him, and then mouldeth him in due proportions; 19 Then He eased the way for him; 20 Then He caused him to die and be buried 21 Then when He pleases, He will raise him to life again. 22 No! Man has not yet accomplished what He commanded him. 23 Then let man look at his food, 24 How We poured down water in torrents, 25 and let the earth to break open 26 And produce therein corn, 27 together with grapes and vegetables, 28 olives, dates, 29 And enclosed Gardens, dense with lofty trees, 30 and fruits and pastures – 31 For use and convenience to you and your cattle. 32 At length, when there comes the Deafening Noise,- 33 on that Day a man shall flee from his own brother, 34 And from his mother and his father, 35 And from his wife and his children. 36 For every one of them on that Day shall be business enough to occupy 37 (Many) faces on that day shall be bright, 38 Laughing, rejoicing at good news (of Paradise). 39 And some faces will on that Day with dust be covered, 40 Darkness will cover them, 41 It is they, the disbelievers, the sinners. 42
