Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Has there come to you the narration of the overwhelming (i.e. the Day of Resurrection); 1 On that Day, there shall be downcast faces, 2 be toiling and worn-out; 3 they shall burn in a Scorching Fire; 4 watered at a boiling fountain, 5 There is no food for them except thorns of fire. 6 which neither sustains, nor satisfy hunger. 7 In that day other faces will be calm, 8 Glad with their endeavour (for their good deeds which they did in this world, along with the true Faith of Islamic Monotheism). 9 In a lofty Paradise. 10 where they will hear no idle talk. 11 Countless springs will flow therein, 12 [and] there will be thrones [of happiness] raised high, 13 Goblets set, 14 And cushions set in rows, 15 And carpets spread out. 16 Do they not then ponder how the clouds were formed; 17 And the sky: how it was raised high? 18 and how the mountains were firmly fixed? 19 and on the earth, how it is spread out? 20 Remind them; you are surely a reminder. 21 You are not a watcher over them; 22 Except whoever turns away and disbelieves – 23 In which case he will be punished by God with the severest punishment. 24 Truly, to Us is their return; 25 And Ours their reckoning. 26
