Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Hast thou received the story of the Enveloper? 1 On that day (many) faces will be downcast, 2 troubled and tired as a result of their deeds in the past. 3 roasting at a scorching Fire 4 Made to drink from a boiling spring. 5 no food for them but cactus thorn 6 Which will neither nourish nor satisfy hunger. 7 [Other] faces, that Day, will show pleasure. 8 Glad with their endeavour (for their good deeds which they did in this world, along with the true Faith of Islamic Monotheism). 9 in a sublime Garden, 10 hearing there no babble; 11 In it is a flowing spring. 12 raised couches, 13 And goblets set at hand 14 well-placed cushions, 15 and well spread carpets. 16 So do they not see the camel – how it has been created? 17 and on the sky, how it is raised aloft, 18 And the mountains, how they were fixed; 19 And the earth, how it is spread? 20 Therefore remind, you are only a Reminder. 21 you are not their keeper. 22 But whoso is averse and disbelieveth, 23 God will punish them with the greatest torment. 24 Certainly, it is to Us that they will return. 25 And Ours their reckoning. 26
