Therefore proclaim thou the praises (of thy Lord): for by the Grace of thy Lord, thou art no (vulgar) soothsayer, nor art thou one possessed. 29 Or do they say: “He is a poet for whom we await an adverse turn of fortune.” 30 Say: 'Wait if you will; I shall be waiting with you' 31 Or do their minds command them to [say] this, or are they a transgressing people? 32 Do they say, "He has falsely invented it (the Quran)?" In fact, they themselves have no faith. 33 Then let them produce speech the like thereof, if they are truthful. 34 Have they been created from nothing or are they themselves their own creators? 35 Or, did they create the heavens and the earth? No, their belief is not certain! 36 Or are thy Lord's treasuries in their keeping? Or are they the registrars? 37 Or do they have any stairs, climbing upon which they eavesdrop? So their eavesdropper should bring some clear proof! 38 Or, has He daughters, and they sons? 39 Or is it that you ask of them any recompense so that they should fear to be weighed down under the burden of debt? 40 Or is the Unseen in their keeping, and so they are writing it down? 41 Or do they intend a plot (against thee)? But those who defy Allah are themselves involved in a Plot! 42 Or have they a god other than God? Exalted be God over what they ascribe as partners [to Him]! 43 Were they to see a piece of the sky falling (on them), they would (only) say: "Clouds gathered in heaps!" 44 So leave them alone till they meet their Day, in which they will sink into a fainting (with horror). 45 A Day whereon their plotting will avail them not at all, nor will they be succoured. 46 And indeed, for those who have wronged is a punishment before that, but most of them do not know. 47 And so, await in patience thy Sustainer's judgment, for thou art well within Our sight. And extol thy Sustainer's limitless glory and praise whenever thou risest up, 48 And proclaim His Purity during the night, and when the stars turn back. 49
