A multitude of those (on the Right Hand) will be from the first generation (who embraced Islam). 39 and a good many of later times. 40 And those on the left hand: What of those on the left hand? 41 (they shall live) amid burning winds and boiling water, 42 and the shadows of black smoke 43 Neither cool nor agreeable. 44 Surely they were before that made to live in ease and plenty. 45 But persisted in that greater sin, 46 And they used to say: "When we die and become dust and bones, shall we then indeed be resurrected? 47 We and our fathers of old? 48 Say, "Indeed, the earlier ones and the later ones 49 shall be gathered together to the appointed time on a known Day' 50 Then you, the erring ones and those that gave the lie to the Truth, 51 "Ye will surely taste of the Tree of Zaqqum. 52 Then will fill your bellies with it. 53 And shall be drinkers thereon of boiling water. 54 You shall drink it as the thirsty camels drink." 55 Thus shall they be entertained on the Day of Recompense. 56 It is We who have created you. Why then did you not testify to the Truth? 57 Then tell Me (about) the human semen that you emit. 58 Is it you that create it or are We the creators? 59 We have decreed death to you all, and We are not unable, 60 that We may exchange the likes of you, and make you to grow again in a fashion you know not. 61 You have known the first creation, then why do you not reflect? 62 Have ye seen that which ye cultivate? 63 Cause it ye to grow, or are We the Grower? 64 If We willed, We could make it [dry] debris, and you would remain in wonder, 65 Lo! we are laden with debt! 66 Rather, we have been deprived." 67 Tell Me! The water that you drink. 68 Is it ye who shed it from the raincloud, or are We the Shedder? 69 If We pleased, We would have made it salty; why do you not then give thanks? 70 Have you considered the fire which you strike? 71 Was it ye who made the tree thereof to grow, or were We the grower? 72 We have made it a Reminder (for the Hell-fire, in the Hereafter); and an article of use for the travellers (and all the others, in this world). 73 Therefor (O Muhammad), praise the name of thy Lord, the Tremendous. 74
