Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Has the story reached thee of the overwhelming (Event)? 1 Some faces, that Day, will be humiliated, 2 Laboring, toiling, 3 they shall burn in a Scorching Fire; 4 their drink shall be from a boiling spring. 5 No food for them save the bitterness of dry thorns, 6 Which will neither nourish nor avail against hunger. 7 [Other] faces, that Day, will show pleasure. 8 well pleased with their striving, 9 in a sublime Garden, 10 Where they hear no idle speech, 11 In it is a flowing spring. 12 and raised couches, 13 well arranged goblets, 14 and arranged cushions 15 And silken carpets spread. 16 Do (these unbelievers) not observe the camels: how they were created? 17 how the heavens are raised up high, 18 And the mountains, how they are firmly fixed, 19 And how the earth was outstretched? 20 Remind them, for thou art but a remembrancer, 21 and are not invested with the authority to compel them. 22 But whosoever will turn back and disbelieve 23 will be punished by God with the greatest punishment. 24 Truly, to Us is their return; 25 Then verily on Us is their reckoning. 26
