Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)

8 verses, revealed in Mecca after Bounty (Al-Kawthar) before Charity (Al-Maa'oon)

In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Abundance diverts you, 1 Till you reach the grave. 2 Nay, but ye will come to know! 3 Again, no indeed, you shall soon know. 4 Nay! If you knew with a sure knowledge (the end result of piling up, you would not have occupied yourselves in worldly things) 5 You will surely end up seeing Hell; 6 and you will see it with your own eyes. 7 Then on that Day you shall be questioned about your worldly favours. 8

True are the words of God the Almighty.
