In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Alif. Lam. Ra. THESE ARE MESSAGES of a revelation clear in itself and clearly showing the truth: 1 We have sent it down as a clear discourse that you may understand. 2 We narrate to you the best of narratives, by Our revealing to you this Quran, though before this you were certainly one of those who did not know. 3 [Of these stories mention] when Joseph said to his father, "O my father, indeed I have seen [in a dream] eleven stars and the sun and the moon; I saw them prostrating to me." 4 He said: O my son! recount not thine vision unto thy brethren, lest they plot a plot against thee; verily the Satan is unto man an enemy manifest. 5 "Thus will thy Lord choose thee and teach thee the interpretation of stories (and events) and perfect His favour to thee and to the posterity of Jacob - even as He perfected it to thy fathers Abraham and Isaac aforetime! for Allah is full of knowledge and wisdom." 6
