When your Lord called out to Moses, saying, "Go to the wrongdoing people, 10 The people of Firon: Will they not guard (against evil)? 11 'My Lord' he replied, 'I fear they will belie me 12 And I shall be embarrassed, and my tongue will not speak plainly, therefor send for Aaron (to help me). 13 "And they have a charge of crime against me, and I fear they will kill me." 14 [Allah] said, "No. Go both of you with Our signs; indeed, We are with you, listening. 15 And go, both of you, unto Pharaoh and say, 'Behold, we bear a message from the Sustainer of all the worlds: 16 Let the children of Israel go with us!'" 17 [Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] said [to Musa (Moses)]: "Did we not bring you up among us as a child? And you did dwell many years of your life with us. 18 You spent many years of your life among us and then you committed that deed of yours. You are very ungrateful indeed." 19 (Moses) replied: "I did do that and I was in the wrong, 20 So I fled from you when I feared you, then my Lord granted me wisdom and made me of the apostles; 21 And that favour wherewith thou didst oblige me was that thou hadst enslaved the Children of Isra'il? 22 Pharaoh said, 'And what is the Lord of all Being?' 23 He said, 'The Lord of the heavens and earth, and what between them is, if you have faith.' 24 Fir'awn said unto those around him: hear ye not? 25 Moses continued, "He is the Lord and the Lord of your forefathers." 26 Said he, 'Surely your Messenger who was sent to you is possessed!' 27 (Moses) said: "Lord of the East and the West, and all between! if ye only had sense!" 28 Fir'aun (Pharaoh) said: "If you choose an ilah (god) other than me, I will certainly put you among the prisoners." 29 'What, even if I brought you something clear' said he (Moses). 30 The Pharaoh replied, "Bring it, if you are telling the truth." 31 So (Moses) threw his rod, and behold, it was a serpent, plain (for all to see)! 32 And he drew out his hand, and it appeared [shining] white to the beholders. 33
