And recite to them the news of Abraham, 69 When he said to his father and his people: "What do you worship?" 70 They said: "We worship idols, and to them we are ever devoted." 71 He said, “Do they hear you when you call?” 72 or do they profit you, or harm?' 73 They said: "No. But we found our fathers doing so." 74 He said, “Do you see these – (the idols) whom you worship?” 75 "You and your ancient fathers? 76 Surely they are enemies to me, but not (so) the Lord of the worlds; 77 who created me, and Himself guides me, 78 And Who feedeth me and watereth me. 79 And when I sicken, then He healeth me, 80 He who will cause me to die and bring me back to life; 81 And who, I hope, will condone my faults on the Day of Judgement. 82 My Lord! bestow on me wisdom and join me with the righteous. 83 give me a good name among later generations; 84 Make me one of the inheritors of the Garden of Bliss 85 and forgive my father, for he is one of those astray. 86 and disgrace me not on the Day when people will be raised to life, 87 The Day when there will not benefit [anyone] wealth or children 88 except for him who comes to God with a pure heart. 89 Paradise will be brought near those who take heed for themselves and follow the straight path; 90 And the Fierce Fire shall be made apparent unto the seduced ones. 91 who will be asked, "What did you worship 92 Other than God? Can they save you or even save themselves?" 93 They will then be thrown into Hell with those who had gone astray 94 and the hosts of Iblis - all together. 95 They will dispute between themselves therein, and will say, 96 "We were clearly misguided 97 when we deemed you [false deities] equal to the Sustainer of all the worlds 98 It was but the guilty who misled us. 99 and now we have none to intercede on our behalf, 100 Nor any loving friend. 101 Would that we might return again, and be among the believers' 102 Lo! herein is indeed a portent, yet most of them are not believers! 103 And verily thy Lord is He, the Exalted in Might, Most Merciful. 104
