[AND] the people of Lot gave the lie to [one of God's] message-bearers 160 When their brother Lout (Lot) said to them: "Will you not fear Allah and obey Him? 161 “I am indeed a trustworthy Noble Messenger of Allah to you.” 162 So fear Allah, and obey me. 163 I do not ask any payment for my preaching. I shall receive my reward from the Lord of the Universe. 164 What, do you come to male beings, 165 leaving your wives that your Lord created for you? Nay, but you are a people of transgressors. 166 They said, “O Lut, if you do not desist, you will be expelled.” 167 He said, “I am disgusted with your works.” 168 "O my Lord! deliver me and my family from such things as they do!" 169 So We saved him and his household, every one, 170 Except one old woman, who stayed behind. 171 then We totally destroyed the rest, 172 And We rained on them a rain. And dreadful is the rain of those who have been warned. 173 Verily in this was a sign, but most of them do not believe. 174 And verily thy Lord! He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 175
