The people of Lut denied the Noble Messengers. 160 When their brother Lut said unto them: fear ye not? 161 Verily I am unto you an apostle trusted. 162 be, then, conscious of God, and pay heed unto me! 163 I ask of you no recompense for this; my reward is only with the Lord of the Universe. 164 What! do you come to the males from among the creatures 165 leaving aside those whom Allah has created for you as your mates. Nay, you are a people that has transgressed all limits." 166 Said they: "Indeed, If thou desist not, O Lot, thou wilt most certainly be expelled [from this township]!" 167 He said: I am in truth of those who hate your conduct. 168 Lord, save me and my family from their deeds." 169 Thereupon We saved him and all his household 170 Save an old woman among those who stayed behind. 171 Thereafter We annihilated the rest. 172 And We rained upon them a rain [of stones], and evil was the rain of those who were warned. 173 Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers. 174 And lo! thy Lord, He is indeed the Mighty, the Merciful. 175
