Prostration (Al-Sajdah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
ALIF LAM MIM. 1 Revelation of this Book, whereof there is no doubt, is from the Lord of the Worlds. 2 Or do they say: “He has fabricated it?” Nay, it is the Truth from your Lord so that you may warn a people to whom no warner came before you; perhaps they will be guided to the Right Way. 3 It was God who created the heavens and the earth and whatsoever is in between in six Days, and then He established Himself on the throne. You have no patron nor any intercessor besides Him. So will you not pay heed? 4 He disposeth every affair from the heaven unto the earth; thereafter it shall ascend unto Him in a Day the measure whereof is one thousand years of that which ye compute. 5 Such is He, the Knower of all things, hidden and open, the Exalted (in power), the Merciful;- 6 who gave everything its perfect form. He originated the creation of man from clay, 7 then He made his offspring from a clot of weak water (semen). 8 and then He forms him in accordance with what he is meant to be, and breathes into him of His spirit: and [thus, O men,] He endows you with hearing, and sight, and feelings as well as minds: [yet] how seldom are you grateful! 9 They say: “Shall we be created afresh after we have become lost in the earth?” Nay, the fact is that they deny that they will meet their Lord. 10 ۞ Proclaim, “The angel of death, who is appointed over you, causes you to die and then towards your Lord you will return.” 11
