3/4 Hizb 45
< random >
Noah cried to Us, and how excellent was Our response! 75 And We delivered him and his followers from the mighty distress. 76 And made his progeny to endure (on this earth); 77 We perpetuated his praise in later generations. 78 Peace be upon Nooh, among the entire people. 79 Thus do We surely reward the doers of good. 80 he was among Our believing servants. 81 Afterwards We drowned the others. 82 ۞ Abraham was of the same faith: 83 When he came unto his Lord with a whole heart; 84 [And] when he said to his father and his people, "What do you worship? 85 Is it a falsehood - gods beside Allah - that ye desire? 86 "Then what is your idea about the Lord of the worlds?" 87 He looked up at the stars. 88 and said: 'Surely, I am sick (of what you worship)' 89 so they turned their backs on him and went off. 90 Then did he turn to their gods and said, "will ye not eat (of the offerings before you)?... 91 What is the matter with you that you do not speak? 92 And he turned upon them smiting them with his right hand. 93 So the people descended upon him. 94 Said he: What! do you worship what you hew out? 95 And Allah has created you and what you make. 96 They said, "Let us build a fire and throw him into the flames". 97 (This failing), they then sought a stratagem against him, but We made them the ones most humiliated! 98 He said, "I will go to my Lord: He is sure to guide me. 99 My Lord! Vouchsafe me of the righteous. 100 Then We gave him the good tidings of a prudent boy; 101 And [one day,] when [the child] had become old enough to share in his [father's] endeavours, the latter said: "O my dear son! I have seen in a dream that I should sacrifice thee: consider, then, what would be thy view!" [Ishmael] answered: "O my father! Do as thou art bidden: thou wilt find me, if God so wills, among those who are patient in adversity!" 102 When they had both submitted to God, and he had laid his son down on his face, 103 We called unto him: O Abraham! 104 You have fulfilled the dream (vision)!" Verily! Thus do We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 105 Lo! that verily was a clear test. 106 And We ransomed him with a mighty victim. 107 and left for him among the later folk 108 "Peace upon Abraham." 109 This is how We reward the virtuous. 110 Verily, he was one of Our believing slaves. 111 And We gave him the glad tidings of Is-haq, a prophet, and of the righteous. 112 And We blessed him and Isaac. But among their descendants is the doer of good and the clearly unjust to himself. 113
